LIVE AGAIN RETREAT
HOW WE HELP
The retreat aims to help grieving mothers and grandparents move from feeling “stuck” to Dreaming Again, Hoping Again, and ultimately Living Again.
It fosters a no-judgment environment that encourages curiosity about the future, invites participants to say “yes” to new experiences, and sets the stage for discovering next steps, goals, and dreams. Through fun activities and meaningful moments, attendees are reminded of who they are designed to be, honoring their lost child by embracing life and community once more.
“Live Again Retreat” will be held in Volusia County and will be geared towards mothers, couples and eventually grandparents. The mission behind “Live Again Retreat” is to empower people to find hope in dreaming again and living again, to experience the world around them in a fresh new way through experiences/experiential modalities - like bike riding, building sand castles, fishing, surfing, paddle boarding, maybe even boogie boarding. This experiential and tactile program will include time for reflection, journaling and dream board making. There will also be group support time for attendees to share openly and candidly with their peers, listen to music to reflect and dream.
“Live Again Retreat” is one of the only retreats of its kind on the east coast and will be open to all loss families – not just The Finley Project families.
The long-term vision is to have a permanent home in NSB where we host weekend retreats for mothers/couples and have space available for a couple to come in a more recent loss, to be alone together, with tools/resources to work through. There will be no cost to attend except a small application fee.
