Q: Do you help moms beyond Central Florida?
A: Although we are based in Orlando, we help moms all over the continental United States.
Q: Do you support mothers who have lost earlier than 20 weeks gestation?
A. The need is great and The Finley Project® helps in the best way it can. The Finley Project® supports infants that are babies at 20 weeks' gestation through 2 years of age. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) defines, reviews and publishes data of infants that are at 20 weeks’ gestation to 2 years of age, therefore we use this standard for care so we can best help support and care for grieving families. Although The Finley Project® wishes to help all women, with all losses, parameters had to be set. This does not mean other losses are less important or the lives of those children are less valuable.
Q: How long does The Finley Project® support a mother?
A. The Finley Project® is committed to supporting each mother for the long haul, for 5 years after the loss.
Q: Do you also help fathers of loss and if so, what type of support do you offer?
A. Most of our services benefit the fathers as well as the mothers (i.e. counseling, gift cards, house cleanings, support groups).
Q: Do you offer any type of support for siblings?
A. We can connect you with programs in your area that offer services for siblings.
Q: How are you funded?
A. 80% of our funds are provided by Individual Contributions, and the remainder is provided by Private Foundations, Grants and Special Events.
Q: Are you a Christian based organization?
A. We help mothers from all walks of life regardless of race, religious affiliation, or status. While we are based on Christian principles, we do not claim to have or be a specific religious organization.
Q: Do you pay for funerals?
A. While The Finley Project® does not fund the cost of funerals, there are other organizations that do. We are more than willing to help facilitate communication with those resources and offer support in the way of planning, making phone calls and conducting research to help arrange funeral services/celebration of life events.
Q: Do you offer financial assistance?
A. We do not offer financial assistance for rent or utilities, however, we can help research/connect you to organizations in your area that can help with financial hardships.
Q: Do I have to use all 7 parts of the Program, or can I pick and choose which ones I like?
A. The Program is designed to be used as a whole to promote holistic healing rather than a la carte.
Q: Do I have to pay anything to be a part of the program?
A. No, there is no charge to participate in the program, just a willingness to participate in all areas the program offers.
Q: How can I get involved?
A. Donate, share about The Finley Project® with friends, family, coworkers, other businesses, attend and/or promote our Annual Gala or other fundraising events, volunteer as a Support Coordinator, join the Gala committee, offer any services you think we might be able to use (i.e. office space, office supplies, items for fundraisers), and/or host Noelle Moore-Fernandez as a speaker for your next business engagement or special event
